H1N1 Influenza (Swine Flu) vaccines are now available: Health department

Nagaland health department has informed that vaccine for H1N1 Influenza (Swine Flu) was now available in selected nursing homes, private hospitals and pharmacies.

According to a DIPR, Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) state nodal officer Dr. Tiasunep Pongener has advised public to take measures so as to avoid dust induced/related respiratory tract infection in view of the changing weather conditions.

“As far as possible, small children below 5 years of age and adults above 65 years of age, and people with chronic underlying diseases should remain confined at home,” he said.

All the five samples that were sent to ICMR, Dibrugarh March 3 for confirmation of H1N1 flu have been reported negative.
